Identical to traditional marijuana flower. Once you smoke or vape THCA flower, the THCA converts to Delta 9, and you get the standard THC effect. The only difference from the user's perspective: you may notice a slightly more "raw" or "hempy" taste compared to dispensary-grade marijuana, because most THCA flower is grown from hemp cultivars rather than traditional marijuana cultivars. 7. How to choose on the OBX

2. Buy from a shop that rotates stock. Hemp products degrade. A shop that sells the same D8 gummies 8 months after they hit the shelf is a shop with quality problems.
3. Start low, go slow. Especially with D9 and THCP. 5mg is a perfectly good first dose for most people. You can always take more, you can never take less.
4. Don't mix with alcohol or other substances. Cannabis + alcohol is a rough combination. Cannabis + most medications is generally safe but check with your doctor if you're on prescription drugs.
5. Don't drive. All four cannabinoids impair. Don't drive for at least 6 hours after consuming D9 or D8, longer for THCP or high-dose edibles.

9. The OBX-specific consideration: federal land

The Outer Banks has more federal land than almost any other beach destination. Cape Hatteras National Seashore covers virtually all of Hatteras Island's beaches. Wright Brothers Memorial and Fort Raleigh are federal. The four cannabinoids above are all legal under NC law, but they are NOT legal on federal land. Possession of any cannabis product (even legal hemp) on NPS land is a federal misdemeanor.

Practical rule: Consume at your rental or private property, not on the beach. The OBX beaches are mostly federal land south of Oregon Inlet.
