The Outer Banks is beautiful, but the humidity is brutal on cannabis flower. If you don't store your stash correctly, you're risking mold, loss of potency, and a diminished experience.
The Danger of High Humidity
Cannabis flower is hygroscopic, meaning it absorbs moisture from the air. When you open your jar on a beach house deck in July, the humid OBX air rushes in.
If the flower is stored in a plastic zip-lock bag, the moisture can get trapped, creating a breeding ground for mold and mildew.
The Glass Standard
The absolute best way to store cannabis is in airtight glass jars. Glass doesn't interact with the flower, and a proper seal prevents the humidity from penetrating.
Avoid Plastic
Plastic can leach chemicals and allow oxygen and moisture to seep through over time.
Dark Glass
UV rays from the beach sun can degrade THC into CBN, making you sleepier and less potent. Use amber or violet glass if possible.
Humidity Control Packs
